Kinoman and the dead pixel

Hello there kids!

I've been trying to work on a little story for my friends at Kinofest(<---click me for the link).

I just finished the first page and I thought it would be a great teaser for the rest of it.
The story picks up where another old story of my ended. Kinoman went on a quest to find the pixel of power and found himself screwing up the order of their universe during that process.
Thus, the old pervy sage tries to summon him with some crazy-ass-magic to fix up the new peril threatening their world.

Owl

Hello there
I'm here with the last of the commissions I was talking about.
The lucky finalist is The Owl.

In case anybody's wondering why that owl looks so weird, I prepared myself with a pretty solid answer: "because I wanted it to look that weird..." .
The thing is, I was trying to exaggerate the proportions of the owl by increasing the size of the neck and wings, making it's head smaller but that turned out pretty freakishly weird, thus I modified a bit the size of the head leaving me with something that looked ok. It looked ok in pencil.... in pencil...

Anyway.
I used the same technique as the other two, and I must say, it was really fun redesigning this one.

Magic

Hello once again.

As I was saying last time I started work on a couple of commissions. The second lucky bookmark that received a facelift was the "Magic" bookmark.

Same old technique. I used the brush more though, but I can't say I'm happy with the result.

Maus

Ok.
So, in the past few days I started working on a couple of commissions. I was asked to create an A4 version for three of the ink bookmarks that I made some time ago. But as some of you know, I don't trace unless it's animation... thus being a jolly human being that loves the outdoors and all manner of activities that presume leaving the fucking house, I decided to recreate those three in a better, more time consuming version, fit for hanging on a wall.

The first lucky one was "MAUS"

 (As usually, quills and nibs and inkers and brushes and paper and patience)

The next one will be... actually I won't tell you guys which one will be next, you'll just have to wait for it hihihih.

Chat noir.

Hello again!

I've been working on an ink drawing for a friend. She absolutely loves black cats and reading so I had to come up with something in the line of what you're gonna see below. I got inspired quite a bunch by Théophile Steinlen's iconic "Chat Noir" poster, I mean that was the first thing that came to my mind when I heard the words black cat. Yet another reminder of how powerful an image can be hehe. Anyway, I can't compare mine to that, but, it is pretty cute. Here it is.

Really curious if she's gonna like it.

I've invested quite a bit of thinking on the composition but none on color, so I'm probably gonna leave it like this. It looks a bit better on paper than it does scanned, you know, just in ink. It's traditionally inked using pen and quills and nibs and brushes and quite some time.
Here's the pencil.

Initially I was planning on doing some celtic knots instead of those circles, like the almost Dara Knot that's around the cat's head, but that proved a bit too difficult for me, considering the really small size of the circles. Oh yeah I did this on an A4 format. I'm not gonna post the wee sketches I did for this. So...yeah, that's about it. Hope you guys like it, and I hope she likes it as well. Now i'm off looking for a frame for this thing.

Po fan art.

Some of you may know that I'm a big Kung Fu Panda fan, so it was pretty obvious that something like this was meant to come along sooner or later hehe.
So, I made this for a friend.

I used 200g A4 Fabriano paper, inked using a quill with various nibs, brushes and some liners as well. The background greys are watercolors and ink.

Will be back soon with some more Po fan art :P .

"Setila" fan art

Here's a fan art made for a comic that runs back home. Pretty interesting character, having a bit of a pickle with whatever he drinks being transported to his father's kingdom... Damn curses...
